KIVO is a community marketplace for the Bavaro-Punta Cana area. Our goal is to create a safe, respectful, and useful space for everyone — locals, expats, and visitors alike. These guidelines help ensure a positive experience for all users. By using KIVO, you agree to follow these guidelines.
Listing Rules
- Listings must be accurate and truthful — describe items and services honestly
- Use clear, relevant photos that represent the actual item or service
- Set fair and realistic prices in the correct currency (DOP or USD)
- Post in the correct category — miscategorized listings may be removed
- Do not post duplicate listings for the same item or service
- Update or remove listings when items are sold or services are no longer available
- Include relevant details: condition, location, availability, and contact preferences
- Do not use misleading titles or descriptions to attract clicks
Prohibited Items & Services
- Illegal drugs, narcotics, or drug paraphernalia
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or explosives
- Stolen goods or items with removed serial numbers
- Counterfeit products, fake documents, or pirated content
- Endangered animals, protected wildlife, or illegal animal products
- Human trafficking or exploitation of any kind
- Sexually explicit services or content
- Prescription medications or unregulated health products
- Financial scams, pyramid schemes, or fraudulent investment offers
- Any item or service that violates Dominican Republic law
Chat & Communication
- Be respectful and professional in all communications
- Do not send spam, unsolicited advertisements, or repetitive messages
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or discriminatory language is strictly prohibited
- Do not share other users' personal information without their consent
- Keep conversations relevant to the listing or service being discussed
- Report suspicious behavior or scam attempts immediately
- Remember that messages may be auto-translated — be patient with language differences
Profile Standards
- Use your real name or legitimate business name
- Profile photos should be appropriate and represent you or your business
- Do not impersonate other people, businesses, or organizations
- Keep bio and profile information accurate and up to date
- Specialist and Business profiles must verify their email address
- Do not create multiple accounts — one account per person
Specialist & Business Standards
- Accurately represent your qualifications, experience, and services
- Respond to inquiries and service requests in a timely manner
- Honor agreed-upon prices, timelines, and service terms
- Maintain professional conduct in all interactions with clients
- Do not misrepresent certifications, licenses, or professional affiliations
- Provide honest estimates and be transparent about additional costs
Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it using the built-in reporting tools on the platform. You can report listings, chat messages, and user profiles. All reports are reviewed by our moderation team. We take every report seriously and will respond as quickly as possible. You can also provide general feedback or report bugs through the feedback feature in the app.
Consequences of Violations
- Warning — for minor or first-time violations, we will issue a warning
- Content removal — listings or content that violates guidelines will be removed
- Temporary suspension — repeated violations may result in temporary account suspension
- Permanent ban — serious or repeated violations will result in permanent account termination
- We reserve the right to take action without prior warning for severe violations
- Decisions are made at KIVO's discretion based on the severity and context of the violation
Appeals
If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you can appeal by contacting us at admin@kivoclas.com. Please include your account details and a description of the situation. We will review your appeal and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
